Sara’s Bio

Born and raised in central Mississippi, Sara graduated from Kosciusko High School after which she earned a degree in Accounting from Mississippi State University.  Sara immediately landed a cost accounting position with Cal-Maine Foods, the largest shell egg producer in the United States.  In 1981 with persistent encouragement from her friends and colleagues, Sara relocated to the Houston area with her six year old daughter, Robin. The oil industry was booming, jobs for accountants were plentiful and Sara took a position with IMCO Services, a division of Halliburton Services.  Five years later, Halliburton merged the drilling fluids division with a division of Dresser Industries at which time Sara went back to the classroom to earn her Real Estate license.

The decision to work in real estate was a leap of faith for Sara. She jumped right into her new venture with enthusiasm working with Dave Summers Donna Mundy Realtors,  Merrill Lynch Realty and in 1989 a move to Re/Max of Texas.  Sara had a true passion for real estate both from an investment standpoint as well as finding the “perfect home” for her clients and  has been helping sellers, buyers and investors in the Houston real estate market ever since.

Sara’s decision to open her own Gordon Ford Properties real estate office came during the market downturn in 2009 when she also embarked on a brand new business venture.  Following a long time passion for wine.  Sara opened a boutique wine store called The Urban Vine in Cypress, Tx.   For the next three years, while still helping past clients and friends with their real estate needs,  Sara poured enormous energy into building a new business and cultivating new relationships which she says she will cherish forever.  This venture was an awesome experience in learning about the art of winemaking as well as  marketing and building a retail business from the ground up.  Sara now realizes how important small local businesses are to your community and has made a commitment to help locally owned businesses in any way she can to help make them successful.  In May 2013 Sara marketed and sold The Urban Vine and it remains a thriving venture today.

Having never abandoned her passion for real estate, Sara is back pouring 100% of her energy into helping her clients realize their American Dream.  Sara makes it her commitment to always put her clients first.  She is focused, driven and fearless in her negotiating skills.  Her strong, vast and creative advertising skills bring the right sellers and buyers together, and her communication agreement will ensure that her clients are connected to the process from start to finish.  Sara’s optimistic attitude never allows a challenging situation to become a problem for her but rather, yet another opportunity to learn!

Sara has a strong commitment to education having completed over 1000 hours of real estate related classes including Appraisal, Real Estate Investment, Marketing, Contract Negotiations and Real Estate Finance and currently holds a Brokers License with designations for Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate Realtor Institute and Social Media Pro.  Several years ago,  Sara was inducted into the Re/Max Hall of Fame.

When Sara is not working with buyers and sellers  in the Cypress area, she’s actively involved in local community activities through the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce. She also loves spending time in worship and activities at Houston Northwest Church.  Sara has been a member of and involved with the Texas Association of Realtors, the Houston Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors for 27 years.

Sara relishes her family time….most recently with the addition of her first Grandbaby: Lyla! She also enjoys working out,  traveling, dancing,  a nice glass of wine with friends and taking a long, leisurely ride with her Honey on their Honda Valkyrie.
